Ma Nan has transformed the Chinese traditional art of calligraphy into an evolved dialog through her use of dissection and recomposition. Her use of the three dimensional as an approach to her calligraphy transforms a chop, a word, a symbol into a mountain and valley of pictograms and sculpture.
